(Goose down pillows, Frette linens, Aesop soaps, Nespresso machines, and more.) Guests staying at The Cottage will have access to all hotel amenities including but not limited to the pool, Wellness Room, Club Room, Sauna and Game Room. For adventure seekers, the rock scramble along the Bonticou Crag trail is a challenge worth taking for the breathtaking views at the top. New Paltz is the ideal spot to grab a post-hike bite (we like Huckleberry) and while there, you can peruse the boutiques and antique shops of Water Street Market.

CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS

Given the ever-growing artisan scene in the Hudson Valley, it was important to Reich and Baron that a majority of the decor and details were locally sourced. The light fixtures in the common areas and the restaurant are by Materia Designs, and for the artwork and mirrors, the owners commissioned Jenny Wonderling of Nectar. Luxe accents, like velvet, gold, and marble, are juxtaposed against vintage Persian rugs and reclaimed wood floors featuring a water-based finish that allows the material's natural color to shine through. "From a design perspective, the idea was to have a lot of classic elements but also bring in a lot of contemporary elements as well. I separated the rooms from the common areas," Reich says. Starting at $275 a night, "the rooms, from the furniture to the colors, are very subtle and light and when you're in the rooms you feel a sense of tranquility." "In the 2000s we went through a super-mod, minimalistic design phase, and I think in post-2010, there's this trend of going back to traditional elements," Reich, whose own firm, Akiva Reich & Co., was responsible for the renovations, says.

Hasbrouck House is a modern luxury escape less than two hours away from New York City. The Luxury Suite is on the ground floor of the Carriage House with a private entrance and one of our most romantic suites of all. It features multiple seating areas, a King size bed, in-room soaking tub with chandelier, gas burning fire place and large separate bathroom with walk-in shower.

A few months later, experience what the owners call “Wes Anderson Winter,” where the season and stillness create the perfect environment for recovery and wellness at the beach — in total solitude. "That was a really important part of how I started the process of identifying what was going to be the direction," Reich continues. "The two important components were to pay homage to the history of the buildings and simultaneously being aware that we're living in a time where people admire the past but still have respect and a need for modern living."

Thoughtfully designed to maximize space, this charming and cozy room is perfect for guests not needing to share a bed. The Bar serves as a destination for guests of Hasbrouck House as well as locals from the surrounding communities. A thoughtful selection of local wine, beer, cider and spirits is offered, along with seasonal cocktails. We invite our guests to engage in lively conversation in one of our custom leather banquettes, or around the marble topped bar.

The Grand Suite on the 2nd floor of the Carriage House is the biggest accommodation on the property - a 3-bedroom suite complete with two full bathrooms, and large living room. It boasts a private entrance, large balcony with seating, spacious living room with kitchenette, main bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom, 1 bedroom with queen bed, and one bedroom with full size day bed, and shared bathroom. The perfect room for larger groups of friends or families with children over 12 years of age. All Hasbrouck House guests regardless of booking a classic H/H Stay or one of our curated packages, can look forward to comfort, relaxation, and delightful experiences.

New Offers

From there, hikers can climb a steep hill leading to Lake Awosting; if you’re not up for the climb, you can also drive up. Check out Mohonk Preserve, too, where admission is normally $15 but free with a Hasbrouck House day pass. With 20 one-of-a-kind rooms and suites between four buildings and a farm-to-table restaurant called Butterfield (the name settlers gave the Hudson Valley for its rich lands) it's become quite the destination. In partnership with Dwell, Dan Brunn Architecture is bringing a new kind of residence to Hancock Park in Los Angeles. When completed, Bridge House will stretch 210 feet across the grounds, straddling a brook in an architectural maneuver that gives the project its name.

Or, simply unwind next to the fireplace in the Club Room with a cocktail and a board game. Hasbrouck House is a historic property that was restored in 2016 and transformed into a boutique hotel. The restoration preserved the historic integrity of the property while providing modern accommodations and amenities. The centerpiece of the hotel is an 18th-century Dutch colonial stone mansion, which houses many of the guestrooms as well as the farm-to-table restaurant, Butterfield. Nearby are the carriage and stable houses where some of the other rooms are located. This Classic Suite is on the ground floor of the Carriage House, just behind the main building with it's own private entrance.

New Paltz and Rosendale Village are situated a short car ride from the property. For more, Hasbrouck House has compiled the ultimate guide to help guests navigate the area in every season. If you’re interested in learning about what else the property has in store for guests, be sure to check out the Hasbrouck House Guide for where to eat, drink, shop, and play in and around the area. Hasbrouck House is a short driving distance (20-30 minutes) to quintessential upstate towns like Woodstock and Kingston, which each make for a fantastic day trip or dinner out. Guests can pick up a cozy blanket, lantern, Sonos Speaker, s’mores kit, or bottle of wine from the front desk, and head out to the bonfires or down to the lakeside fire pit.
